Interim Pastor - Dr. Robert Clark
Robert Clark was born in 1953 in Japan to International Mission Board (IMB) missionary parents. He met his future wife while studying for one quarter at HBU in 1975. After college, he served as a youth minister in Florida, prior to seminary in Texas. In 1980, he married Diana Kneisel and they have been blessed with three children. Robert and Diana served as IMB missionaries in the Philippines from 1985 until December 2015.
In the early years he was a church planter and theological educator. For the last 20 years, he has led out in equipping mostly young lay people for cross-cultural witness and ministry around the world. He was a member of the Training Team of the IMB's Southeast Asia Affinity Group. He is author of three books, speaks Japanese and Tagalog.
Worship Leader - Mark Frusha
Mark and his wife Donna have been members of Garden Oaks Baptist Church for 3 years now. Mark leads worship for our Sunday morning worship service.
Student Pastor & Communications Director - Carlos Tovar
Carlos is a native Houstonian, having attended Waltrip High School and then University of Houston where he studied Communications. He works full-time as an Independent Media Professional, specializing in Motion Picture Production.
Carlos and his wife Stacie enjoy spending time with family and exploring Houston's diverse collection of entertainment venues with close friends.
Children's Ministry Directors - Dan & Melissa Tomlin
Dan was born in South Carolina and lived in various places growing up as his father was in the Navy. He came to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and was baptized at the age of 10. Dan obtained a Bachelor of Science in Technical Management at Devry University. He was the youth leader at Turner Baptist Church for 5 years.
Dan has been a member of GOBC since 2012. He has 6 children and believes children should be raised in a Christ-centric environment.
Campus Administrator - Jim Coit
Jim Coit is a longtime member and Deacon of Garden Oaks Baptist Church. In addition to his work overseeing the campus for the church, Jim is also an architect, well regarded in his field of expertise.
Jim and his wife Rhonda have six children, ranging in age from adult to toddler. They reside in the Heights area.
Finance Clerk and Secretary - Suzanne Dedear
Suzanne grew up in Houston and graduated from Waltrip High School. She has worked at Garden Oaks for 6 years and enjoys life with her husband, three children, and five grandchildren.
