In-Person Worship Services will resume on Sunday, May 17, 2020

We are pleased to announce that on Sunday, May 17, we will reopen the Sanctuary for Sunday Morning Worship Service.  It will be a blessing to see those who are able to/comfortable in joining us.

To ensure that we exercise an abundance of compassion, we are sharing some recommended guidelines, which were drafted with input by the State of Texas, the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention, the Union Baptist Association, the Texas Pastor's Council and the U.S. Pastor's Council, as well as the Center for Disease Control.

Worship Service Guidelines

  • We encourage church members to enter through the side doors of the Sanctuary and to keep physical space of at least 6 ft. from other attendees.

  • The Bulletin for this week will be emailed on Friday, May 15.  Attendees are encouraged to use a personal electronic device or to print their own copy at home and bring.  No physical bulletins will be distributed for the month of May.

  • An offering box will be provided at the Welcome Desk.  No offering plates will be passed during the service.

  • No coffee or food will be served on campus.  Those wishing to bring their own coffee or drinks are welcome to do so.  Any members who do not have a free GOBC thermal mug are welcome to take one home on May 17.

  • Families and those residing in the same household can sit next to each other, but six feet will be requested between each household.  Every other row will be left empty.

CDC Guidance

  • Adults over the age of 65 and those who have serious underlying health conditions are strongly encouraged to stay home and join us online.

  • Those who are sick or feel like they may be sick are asked to stay home and join us online.

  • Use hand sanitizer and wash hands frequently while at the church.

  • Sneeze or cough into a tissue, or the inside of your elbow.

  • Avoid touching your face.

  • Avoid touching other people's face, as well as shaking hands or hugging.

  • Strongly consider using face coverings when in public.

Additional Notes

  • Sanitary face masks will be provided for those who would like one.  They will be at the Welcome Desk.

  • On-site Sunday School classes will not resume for at least the month of May.  We will keep you posted on when these will resume.
