Come See What We're About!

I'm New

Here are some of our most-asked questions and our best answers.

Parents

What do I do with my children?

We have programs for children ages birth to 5th grade. The material we use is age appropriate, and we have at least two teachers per classroom to make sure there is enough supervision and that all children are being challenged at their own level.

Where do I take/pick up my children?

Infants through kindergarten - Bring your infants through kindergarteners to our welcome booth in the Nursery Foyer, where they are signed in and given a security bracelet. You and your child are then escorted to your child's classroom. Pick up your child from the classroom at the end of the worship service.

1st through 5th graders - Drop off your 1st through 5th graders in the upstairs classrooms in the main building. Children's church participants may be picked up in room #205 at the end of the worship service.

General

Am I going to give someone all of my personal information and then get a ton of phone calls, letters, visits, emails, and other contacts?

Not at all.  We would like to have you fill out the visitor tab on the side of the bulletin and place it in the offering plate.  Feel free to give us as much, or as little, information as you choose.  Our desire is to be able to minister to you in Jesus' name, so you decide how you would like for us to do this.

How do I get involved in service at GOBC?

When you have attended and feel ready to get involved, just let one of our pastors or church lay leaders know. They can direct you to the appropriate ministry of your choice.

How do I learn more about GOBC?

You'll probably want to join one of our Bible study classes, or visit one of our small groups.

What does GOBC want from me?

We want you to attach yourself to unbelievers in an effort to lead them to Christ and to influence other Christians to become fully committed to Christ.

What will GOBC do for me?

We provide a training center for Christians by equipping them to penetrate their relationship with the gospel and to shepherd believers through small group life.  We will prepare you for Christian discipleship, so that you can discover your calling and serve the Lord by serving others.

What if I drink, smoke, swear, or have other habits?

We all have issues in our life. As the body of Christ, we are all just forgiven sinners.  We come here to worship God, and to experience an encounter with the Holy Spirit.  If there are changes in our lives that need to be made, that is up to God and he's the one that changes our habits.  Here, you will find a place to have relationships with people who are all experiencing different degrees of growth as Christians.  You'll be welcome.
